The United States carried out a strike during the early morning of Jan. 3, capturing the Venezuelan president, Nicolas Maduro. The strikes comprised a series of bombings in the Venezuelan capital of Caracas. This was revealed to the American public by President Trump on Truth Social, making it yet another American attack on foreign soil.
“The United States of America has successfully carried out a large-scale strike against Venezuela and its leader, President Nicolas Maduro, who has been, along with his wife, captured and flown out of the Country. This operation was done in conjunction with U.S. Law enforcement,” Trump said in a post.
This unprecedented strike happened after weeks of capturing Venezuelan oil tankers, to put pressure on the American regime. Over the past few weeks, tensions have been rising between the United States and many countries, including both Venezuela and Iran. CBS explains how anti-government protests in Iran have increased due to the United States’ actions.
“At least eight have died,” CBS reported when talking about how demonstrations have increased- as of Jan. 3, 2026.
Approximately 10 hours after Maduro’s capture, President Trump addressed the nation at 11 a.m. on Jan. 3.
“We are going to run it essentially. . . we are going to have our very large US oil companies. . . start making money for the country. . . We are ready to stage a second and much larger attack if we need to do so,” Trump said.
The president made it apparent that he- and the United States- will be attempting to control Venezuela. He made numerous allusions to his “help” with crime across America, stating that crime is down 77% in Memphis, and expressed his belief that he can achieve the same results in Venezuela.
