With the 2026 Grammy Awards right around the corner, debates of what artist deserves the win have been a major point of interest. Students at SPFHS are forming their own guess as to who will secure the award, reflecting the present state of music at the moment. While opinions may vary, there is a common idea. This year’s nominees have sparked great discussion among young listeners.

For Album of the Year, the lineup is difficult to choose. With large representations of hip-hop such as “Chromakopia” by Tyler, The Creator, “GNX” by Kendrick Lamar and “Let God Sort Em Out” by Clipse (Pusha T and Malice). Along with plenty representation of pop from artists such as Sabrina Carpenter and Lady Gaga, the decision can go any way. However, based on a successful year for this artist, “Chromakopia” by Tyler, The Creator has the momentum to win.

For Record of the Year, the selection is equally challenging. Songs such as “APT” by ROSÉ and Bruno Mars and “Anxiety” by Doechii were selected for their great popularity throughout the year. Other songs from artists such as Chappell Roan, Billie Eilish and Bad Bunny were selected for their quality. A compelling case for “The Subway” by Chappel Roan can be made to win because of its artistic innovation and emotional impact.

Other predictions from around the school include Kendrick Lamar winning Album of the Year with “GNX”.

“Considering popularity, this is the most popular Kendrick has ever been in his career,” junior Jaden Reilert told The Fanscotian. “I think he’s arguably one of the best artists to win Album of the Year so I think they’ll give it to him.”

For Record of the Year, other predictions lean towards Bad Bunny for his hit song “DtMF”. 

“I think it’s going to be Bad Bunny because he’s the number one artist in the world, and the most people listen to him so that’s why I believe he will win,” sophomore Evelyn Lieberman said.

Music culture is huge in the SPFHS community, and the Grammys will soon reveal which students’ favorite artists deserve the win.
