From April 17 to April 19, 2026, the Music Department went on their annual music trip. This year, they chose to go to Washington, D.C.
In years past, the department has traveled to Disney World, Boston and Virginia Beach. These places rotate so no one visits the same destination twice during their four years at the high school.
“My favorite place I’ve traveled to with the department was Disney World because it was a trip I really enjoyed,” senior Samantha Lionetti, a concert choir member, said. “It allowed my friends and I to spend a lot of time together.”
On the D.C. trip, they went bowling, explored the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, attended Medieval Times and visited an aquarium. They also toured major landmarks such as the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument.
“My personal favorite part of the trip was dressing up for the fun events, especially Medieval Times and the bowling alley, which had a 1990s fashion theme,” sophomore Evelyn Lieberman, a concert choir member, said.
All the students performed for awards at the Annapolis High School in Maryland. Then, these results were announced at Medieval Times, where they received their awards.
“As a whole, I think that each of the performances was incredible, with my favorite being the Rhythmsense performance,” Lieberman said.
Before the trip, Lionetti shared what she was looking forward to most on the trip.
“I am most looking forward to hanging out with my friends,” Lionetti said. “I am very grateful for the choir because it brought me closer to a lot of my friends that I have today.”
Overall, the Music Department’s Washington, D.C. trip was very successful, allowing students to spend time with their friends while showcasing their musical talents.
