Through Dec. 17, 2025, toy donations were accepted in the Student Activities Center (located in the old main office). These generous donations were given to the Scotch Plains police department and then passed on to local children.

The main goal of the toy drive was to collect as many toys as possible to donate to families who could not afford them for the holidays.

“We collect toys for children in need and families that can’t afford to buy toys for their families,” Stephanie Mirabile, the School Resource Officer, told The Fanscotian.

Like many fundraisers, the toy drive sometimes faces challenges.

“If people do not donate our turnout or efforts are limited,” Mirabile said. “But we tend to get a lot of participants between the police department and now the school.”

For future toy drives, community members are encouraged to bring toys suitable for children of all ages.

“[People can bring] any toy for any age, not gift wrapped, as long as it is new,” Mirabile said.

If anyone was unable to participate in this toy drive, there are still many ways to help around the community.

“Keep [your] eyes open for any other fundraisers we may be having through the police department,” Mirabile said.
