14-0. That is how good the Golden State Warriors have been this postseason. Only one team has been able to come close to beating the Warriors in just one game, the Spurs. They lost Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals by two points. The Warriors have scored over 100 points in all 14 playoff games with the most amount being 136 in Game 2 against the Spurs.
But now, they are meeting the Cleveland Cavaliers for the 3rd straight year in the Finals. The first two were great series’ where the Warriors beat the Cavs in 6 games and then the Cavs got their revenge and stole the crown in 7. Last Thursday, Game 1 was played where the super-powered offense of the Warriors beat the Cavs by 22.
During the offseason, the Warriors picked up former NBA MVP Kevin Durant from the Oklahoma City Thunder to complete their dream team. Durant and Steph Curry have been huge contributors to the Warriors magical run. Durant is averaging 26.9 points per game while shooting 55% from the field. Curry on the other hand has been lights out. He is shooting 49% from the field and 44% from deep.
The fans of Cleveland saw Game 2 as a shot to come back and even the series, when they go to Cleveland for Game 3. Game 2 was almost the same result. The Cavs lost by 21 this time. At this point, it seems like the Cavs are finished. But with the rowdy Cleveland crowd behind them, they might be able to string together a few wins while they’re at home. Game 3 is on tomorrow at 9 on ABC.
