On May 16, the lady raiders girls lacrosse team scored their eighth victory against East Brunswick. The game ended with a score of 19-2, one of the most high scoring games in the girl’s favor ever.
Key players of the game included seniors Becky Mehorter, Gabriella DiLollo, Giulia Frias, Haley Monahan, Erin O’Connor; Junior Jordyn Wheeler; and Sophomore Amber Bretz.
Monahan and Bretz each had four goals each.  Mehorter also secured a hat trick and also picked up two key ground balls that helped secure the win.  Frias, DiLollo, and Wheeler had two goals each to round it out.  Goalkeeper, O’Connor, had a total of four saves.
Junior Callie Ciarocca plays attack for the team.  She is proud of her team in light of their recent win.
“Everyone really played their hardest today,” said Ciarocca.  “This is exactly what our team is capable of and I really hope this momentum continues to our next few games.”
As of now, the girl’s record now stands at 8-10.  They play Bridgewater-Raritan away on May 18 as part of their State tournament.  Their last regular season game is away against Morristown-Beard next week.
