Volleyball loses to Westfield on Sep. 18
October 2, 2015
The first point of the game went to Westfield, but it was back and forth from there. The ball alternated between the two teams until the end of the set. Westfield pulled ahead, winning the first set with a score of 25-22.
The second set began the same as the first. Both teams took turns scoring points. But, Westfield got ahead about halfway through the set.
The Raiders fought back with multiple saves from senior, Fallon Goldberg, followed by controlled sets from junior, Stehpanie Ponterio and strong hits from senior, Caroline Yessman.
Westfield held onto the lead, ending the second set and game with a score of 1525.
“The team came out and played really, really hard the first set,” Coach Stack said. “After coming off of a really hard loss yesterday, to play up to a top 20 team in the state the way they did was phenomenal.”
Volleyball plays Colonia next, at home.
