Jan. 9, 2020 was rough for the Raiders varsity basketball team, as they played valiantly against the New Providence Patriots, who were already fighting back aggressively.
There multiple cases of who-wrestles-the-ball-away-first, and the Patriots scored quite a few shots that scored three points instead of the usual two. Despite that, junior Madison StaRosa and sophomore Emily Friscia helped cut the deficit.
Multiple timeouts were called by Raiders Coach Ryan McKenna as he went over strategies with the team. Despite his attempts to rally the team, the Raiders struggled to compete against the Patriots.
The final score was 63-34. Despite the disappointing results of Jan. 9, there are definitely still future victories on the horizon this year. Go Raiders!
