The girls varsity basketball team (11-3) was winning 15-0 at the end of the first quarter and never looked back.

The Raiders rolled past Cranford 47-25 Thursday, Feb. 3 and extended their win streak to six.

“The energy was high and it kept the defense alive,” senior captain Emily Friscia said. “We knew going into the game that we were going to have to put in work because Cranford is in a higher division.  We started with really strong defense and held them to 0 in the first quarter. As the game went on we had great movement on offense and were able to put a lot of good shots up.”

Friscia scored a game-high 14 points, nine of them beyond the three-point line. Sophomore Amanda Baylock had nine points and senior Ashley DeFrancesco contributed eight.

The Raiders look to extend their win streak to seven on Saturday, Feb. 5 on the road against Elizabeth (8-7).
