Ice hockey is currently on fire with their five wins, one loss, and three tie beginning to the season. In their first game of the season, the team pulled out a late victory against rival Governor Livingston. The hockey team is currently ranked fourth in the NJIIHL Essex/Union Conference.
Through their undefeated streak, the team has developed chemistry and enhanced dynamic. The boys are playing at various ice rinks this season, such as Warinanco Park, Cody Arena,Woodbridge Community Center and Union Sports Arena.
With six seniors on the team, the Raiders are expected to be strong and able to beat the teams in their opponents.
Senior Defenceman Nick Route feels that the team’s successful season solely relies on the team’s dynamic.
“We are all very close on and off the ice and this is helping us compete and win as a team, game after game,” Route said.
Some key games for this season are: Jan. 8 against Governor Livingston, Jan 10 against Watchung Hills, and Jan 22 against Cranford. The Raider hockey team hopes to see Raider Nation at their games to bring the excitement and Raider Pride to the games.
