On Wednesday, November 2nd, the Varsity Girls Volleyball team played against Paramus Spartans for the NJSIAA Sectional First Round at Paramus High School. Paramus won the first match 25-21, and the second match had a score of 25-13 in favor of Paramus. Unfortunately, the Raiders lost the game and will not be continuing in the tournament.
The loss may be a downer, but there was exceptional playing from the players senior Callen Leahy who played outside and juniors Hannah Finan and Caraid McGovern who middle made noticeable game changers during the matches. Leahy scored many points by spiking the ball onto the opposing side, while Finan and McGovern used more strategic plays to gain points.
Although the Spartans beat the Raiders, they still held their heads up high and had spirit.
“Next year, I think the team is looking forward to continue to push and have a strong program and hopefully win more games” player Michelle Cagnassola said.
This was the seniors’ last game, as the season has now ended for Girl’s Volleyball. The girls, with the backing of Coach Stack, played a fierce season.
