After a rough week, the Raiders beat formerly undefeated Millburn in two sets on Oct.9 at SPFHS.
From the start, it was apparent that the girls were on top of their game. They played harmoniously and communicated well on the court. The Raiders started ahead and remained that way throughout the game.
Raiders won the first set 25-12.
The first set really set the tone for the game. The Raiders effortlessly received Millburn’s balls with multiple saves by seniors Caroline Yessman and Kristen Koederitz. Yessman and junior Callen Leahy stayed on top of the offense with powerful hits.
Millburn players were frustrated the second set, determined to keep their undefeated title. The Raiders kept up their efforts from the first set, winning the second with a score of 25-16.
The Raiders look to get their next win away from home Tuesday, October 13 at Union Catholic High School.
