The Roselle Park High School varsity wrestling team defeated the Scotch Plains –Fanwood Raiders, 45-16, in Wednesday night’s match. Senior Daniel Van Brunt scored the only pin for the Raiders, increasing the team score by 6. Roselle Park won ten out of the fourteen matches. Four of those wins were pins and one was a tech. For Scotch Plains–Fanwood, junior JT Beirne started his team off strong by winning his match with a final score of 8-2. Along with Van Brunt and Beirne, junior Brian Lapham won his match 6-1 and sophomore Jashmar Philippe won his match 15-4, earning the Raiders a team score of 16. The Raiders take on the Westfield Devils at 7 p.m. on Friday at Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School.
