The Governor Livingston girls basketball team defeated Scotch Plains-Fanwood, 47-42 Friday, Jan. 17 at 6:00 p.m. at Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School.
Madison Maisel, senior co-captain, was the leading scorer for the Raiders with 13 points. Six of Maisel’s 13 points were from three-pointers.
“I think the game went well. We played hard and continue to improve in every game we play. We have to take that game, learn from it, and get ready for the next,” said Raider head coach Camille Mammolite.
Governor Livingston kept the lead the entire game and outscored the Raiders by at least 2 points every quarter. Junior , Thabitha Dwunfor had 21 rebounds and two blocks for the Raiders. Senior Katie Harper and sophomore Amani Williams both contributed six points to the Raider score board. “In the fourth quarter we played as a team and made a run to come back but unfortunately time was not on our side,” said senior co captain, Madison Maisel. The Raiders have a current record of 3-8-0.
The Raiders face Plainfield Thursday, January 23 in the New Gym at Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School.
