SALT visits middle schools to educate younger students

by Olivia Paladino

The Student Athletic Leadership Team (SALT) is visiting 8th grade students Park and Terrill middle schools throughout January and February to teach anti bullying and good decision making workshops. “We are hoping to change the perspective of these 8th graders so that they are prepared for high school and stay on track so their academic and athletic careers can be promising,” said senior Amanda Marcus, member of SALT.

SALT will cover topics such as fighting, cursing, cyberbullying and gossiping. “In our presentations we will tell personal stories about bullying, the negative effects it causes, and how to prevent it and make the right choices,” said Marcus, “We want to teach them that these mistakes can stick with you forever.”
