The Environmental Club has initiated a new recycling system in the high school, designating separate classroom bins for paper, and bins in the hallways and cafeterias for bottles and cans. These changes are “intended to increase our recycling efficiency and make the process easier for the janitors,” said senior Andrew Citera, club president.
Now, the club plans to focus on water conservation. Club activities will include a screening of the documentary Tapped at the Scotch Plains Public Library on Feb. 21, the sale of reusable water bottles, and the installation of water-bottle filling stations throughout the school.
