Scotch Plains resident nominated for screenwriting Academy Award

David Magee of Scotch Plains was nominated for the Best Adapted Screenplay award for Life of Pi, a  movie based on a novel by Yann Martel. Magee won the Satellite Award for Best Adapted Screenplay in 2012. “I was nominated before [for Finding Neverland in 2004], which gave me the chance to work in movies full time, which is something I’d always wanted. I’m very lucky to be in the movie industry. I’ve been successful so far, so hopefully it’ll stay like this for a long time,” said Magee.
