The College Board has announced major changes to the SAT college admissions test. As reported in the December issue of The Fanscotian, vocabulary testing will feature less esoteric words, the math section will test skills related to college and career knowledge, and the essay will require a response to a series of documents. Additional changes include making the essay section optional, eliminating the penalty for guessing, and offering both paper and digital versions of the exam. The exam will return to the 1600-point scoring scale from a 2400-point scale. The new test will premiere in spring 2016.
