The SADD club (Students Against Destructive Decisions) recently won a nationwide contest to promote safe driving sponsored by the national SADD organization and the National Road Safety Foundation. Juniors Nick Patel, Lucy Hollander, Amanda Marcus, Mia Rossi and Caitlin Flood, along with adviser Marjorie Fitzgibbon, submitted a public service announcement story board based on the theme #drivingskills101 titled “Share the Road.” The students will travel to Orlando this summer, where Emmy-winning producer Alan Weiss will film their PSA. SADD won a grant from the DCH SADD National Conference to partially fund the trip. The club also won an online T-shirt design contest sponsored by The Allstate Foundation on March 13 by receiving the most votes through the foundation’s website.
