Team Preview: The high school track runners have displayed success last year, and this success should continue into this season. The first meet took place on Saturday March 14th. Other dates to look out for include a meet against Westfield on April 1st, and the New Balance National Tournament is tentatively scheduled for June 15th. Notable runners on the team include sprinter Kobe White, sprinter Emendo Thomas hurdler Quincy Sanchez, hurdler Summer Robinson, distance runner Joe Dzuback, and distance runner Collin Sullivan. “This year there’s a lot of competition within the team for spots on relay teams and the varsity team because we have a lot of people. There are a lot of returning athletes, there’s also a lot of newer runners and a big freshman class that filled a lot of winter spots,” said Varsity runner Ian MacPherson.
Bottom Line: The spring track team has a large team filled with talented runners, so the team should have no problem showing success during the season.
