Chiller Theatre held its annual convention, which ran from April 29 to May 1. There were huge celebrities from major TV shows, old and new movies and tons of collectible dealers. Chiller has become the largest sci-fi, horror and overall celebrity signing convention in the Northeast. It was held at the Hilton in Parsippany, NJ. Once again, Chiller pulled no punches in putting on the best Sci-fi horror show in the Northeast.

There were rooms filled with vendors selling everything from old posters and vinyl to pins and purses. This was the place to be. In fact if you were anywhere in the Northeast and are a horror fan and weren’t there, you need to ask yourself, “What was I thinking?” Now on to my own personal experience!

I attended with my dad, my aunt and her best friend. It took us about 30 minutes to arrive there. Once we got there, I had the amazing opportunity to see the Delorean time machine from the iconic movie “Back to the Future.”

After that, I had the amazing chance to meet Saundra Santiago who is most famous for her roles in Law & Order and Miami Vice. She was very kind to me. The cast from the TV show “Zoom” was there too. My aunt and her friend got a chance to meet Lisa Whelchel from “The Facts Of Life.” Some of the cast from “MASH” were there, too. I also was able to get a picture with Claudia Wells who played Marty McFly’s girlfriend, Jennifer, from the original “Back To The Future.” I had the amazing opportunity to meet Maia Brewton who played Sara Anderson from the original “Adventures In Babysitting.”

Fun fact: I also got to meet Keith Coogan who played Sara’s brother, Brad Anderson, in the movie at the previous Chiller convention! I also got to meet Amy Steel from “Friday The 13th”, which is a big deal because I am a huge fan of horror movies! I was able to go see the Delorean time machine for a 2nd time but this time was very different because this time I was able to get a picture with Christopher Lloyd who played Doc in “Back To The Future.” After that, my dad, my aunt, her friend and I went back inside and went to look at the collectors to see what they were selling. They were selling lots of different things like old DVDs, CDs, old vinyl albums, action figures, purses, old and new Chucky dolls, pins and patches. I ended up purchasing a vintage Metallica calendar, “Back to the Future” coaster and a Chucky pin.

After that we went back outside to get our picture from Christopher Lloyd. While we were out there, we were able to see The Monkees’ car too. I had the chance to meet Craig Castaldo who goes by “Radio Man.” and has been in over 100 commercials.

Last but not least, I want to thank Ed Bowkley who is the Director of Vendor Relations. Without him, I wouldn’t have had the insider experience that I did. Thank you Ed for everything that you always do for me! It really means a lot to me! I had the best time ever and I can’t wait to go again in the fall!

I would give the convention 10/10 stars. For anyone interested in going in the fall here is the link to the website.
