Wednesday Dec.15 marks the year anniversary of the first COVID-19 vaccinations in New Jersey. Since Dec. 15, 2020, New Jersey has given 14.2 million doses and has vaccinated 6,150,000 million people (69.2 percent of the population). 

To celebrate, the Westfield Regional Health Department is hosting an event at Forest Road Park located in Fanwood NJ. From 10 am until noon, the Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be available for ages 12 and up, and boosters will be available for ages 16 and up. Later that day a walk-in event will be held for pediatrics ages 5 to 11 from four to six pm at Deerfield School in Mountainside. 

On Dec. 9, booster shots for the Pfizer vaccine were extended to those 16 and up and it is encouraged that if you received the primary shot six or more months ago to look into getting boosted.
