SPFHS Gears up for Homecoming with Spirit Week

A collaboration between Student Government Association (SGA) and the Student Council, this week’s spirit week prepares Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School for Friday’s Homecoming.

“The goal of Spirit Week is to create school-wide unity by having people dress the same and show their school pride,” junior student council secretary Jordana Reisberg told The Fanscotian. “We’re creating a sense of community leading up to the big game on Friday and this will hopefully continue to thrive.”

On Monday, the halls were flooded with blue and white as students showed their pride for Raider Nation.

Tuesday was all for comfort- pajama day! Flannel and fluffy clothing were found in every classroom.

Showcase your favorite player or team on Wednesday with a jersey or sportswear. After school, be one of the first 150 students to go to the field outside Door 14 for a pumpkin to decorate — and a shot at a prize.

College Thursday is a great opportunity to represent your favorite college.

The big day of Homecoming, Friday, is a Pink-Out — show your support for Breast Cancer Awareness! Before Friday night’s football game, come to the lower field near Door 14 for a Pre-game Social with opportunities to get pink face paint and hair spray. Snacks included!

All spectators of Friday night’s Homecoming game must have a ticket! Tickets will be pre-sold at a price of only $2 for students and $3 for adults in the Attendance/Athletics Office starting Tuesday, Oct. 19, and will conclude at 2p.m. on Friday Oct. 22..
