The Fanscotian stands for anti-racism. The murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and countless others represent the clear, institutional racism that has plagued our country for generations. The Fanscotian will honor and observe Blackout Tuesday this June 2, 2020. It’s not just about equal rights for all, it’s about standing up for the rights of black and brown people in America. All too many Americans have sat idly by anticipating change may happen, but it is time we rise up and take a stand. Being silent is no longer an option; silence only contributes to the problem at hand. The Fanscotian stands in solidarity with the black community now and always. We are here to learn and listen. Black lives matter.
