The annual People’s Choice Awards aired on Nov. 10, 2019 at 9 pm on E! Network. E! is a popular television channel that has created shows such as Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Botched, and Revenge Body. 
The network hosts the People’s Choice Awards every year, where viewers can vote in a variety of categories. Some categories include social star, social celebrity, movie of the year, action movie of the year, female movie star and more. 
This year, over 1 billion people voted and it is clear that the award show is becoming more and more popular. 
Some notable winners are Kevin Hart and P!nk.
Kevin Hart won the Comedy Act of 2019 for the second year in a row and his attendance at this event was the first public appearance he made after a horrific car crash earlier this year in September. Hart fractured his spine in three places as a result of the accident, and during his speech, he was very thankful for his support system and fans.
P!nk won the People’s Champion Award and during her acceptance speech, she urged the audience to take action in the world.
“You can’t tell me Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, Nelson Mandela, Gloria Steinem, Anita Hill, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Malala Yousafzai, Greta Thunberg can’t make a difference,” Pink said on stage, “I am from Doylestown [Pa.] and I have managed to change a little part in my world.”
Students of SPF are more than likely to have watched the awards show, so it is very important to stay up to date on which actors and celebrities are continuing to trend! Many movies and tv shows that won awards are available to watch on streaming services like Netflix or Hulu for students to enjoy.
“I really enjoy watching the People’s Choice Awards every year and seeing all the celebrities on the red carpet,” junior Allie Serio said, “I’m happy that After won for the Dramatic Movie category”.
