On Wednesday, Oct. 24, the Music Boosters held their annual “Pasta Night” at Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School to raise money for the music departments across the district. The event entailed musical performances by various groups and students, and pasta was served to all in a buffet-style.
Some standout performances included Sensations singing “Marry You,” senior Rachella Carlino singing “Wide Awake” by Katy Perry, senior Cristabella Fortna singing “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran and our own staff member senior Vanessa Handy singing “4ever” by Clairo.
The delicious pasta with the amazing singers was a perfect combination for students to have a fun night with their friends, and for parent attendees to relax and listen to great music.
Pasta Night would not be possible without the parent volunteers that dedicate time to making and serving the food, as well as organizing the event.
The final performance was the music department’s “barbershop quartet.” Seniors Peter Canavari, John Demarco, Matthew Mahmet and Josh Venick sang “Swanee” which was very well received by the crowd of students and parents.
“It’s a fun community event because you get to perform in front of your peers and everyone who is a supporter of the music department.” said John Demarco.
Overall, the night was a success. The food was delicious, the performances were enjoyable and a substantial amount of money was raised to support musical education in SPF.
