The annual Memorial Day parade was held on Monday, May 28, 2018.
The parade began with a small ceremony featuring several guest speakers, including Scotch Plains mayor Al Smith and several military veterans. It also featured the playing of “Taps”, a 21 gun salute, and a rendition of “God Bless America” performed by the SPFHS Chamber Choir.
Following this ceremony, the parade began, led by the SPFHS Marching Band. It also featured various floats with other various groups from Scotch Plains-Fanwood.
Although last year’s parade was cancelled due to weather, Mother Nature cooperated this year and allowed Scotch Plains to have a very successful Memorial Day parade.
