Students involved in Scotch Plains Fanwood High School’s DECA traveled to Atlantic City to compete in the States Career Development Conference. The competition took place from February 27th to March 1st, and featured planned projects and role plays focused around business and DECA’s four core clusters–marketing, business management, hospitality and tourism, and finance. The days that were filled with multiple ceremonies and business knowledge, also featured six SPF groups who placed in their competition, and made it to the International Career Development Conference in Atlanta in April. These students are as follows:
Avery Greenberg- 3rd place in Financial Consulting
Paige McMorrow- 5th place in Hospitality Sales
Lauren Eck, Grace Hollander, and Jessica Riporti- 1st Place in Financial Literacy Promotion Project
Caitlin Bourke and Niva Patel- 1st Place in Sports and Entertainment Team Decision Making
Aly Vuona- Finalist in Retail Merchandising
Brandon Weinberg and Henry Saltzman- Finalist in Travel and Tourism Team Decision Making
