On Wednesday, January 24, 2018, the annual instrumental Pops Concert was held in the Maya Unger auditorium.
The concert started off with a rendition of the national anthem by the Moonglowers singers, then performances by the school’s two percussion ensembles.
Following the percussion ensembles, the Moonglowers played some of their selections while the freshman concert band set up. They played two songs, “Normandy Beach March” and “Down By the Salley Gardens”, then Moonglowers played again while the Symphonic Band set up. They played two selections on their own, “Children of the Shrine” and a medley from “Les Miserables” then combined with the freshman to play a medley of songs from the Disney movie “Moana”.
The SPF Jazz band then went, playing “Jump, Jive, An’Wail” and “Runaway Baby”.
The concert came to a close with a performance by the Wind Ensemble, who played “Espana Cani”, “Selections from Star Wars” and “Funicula Funicula”.
The concert was a huge success and entertained many families from the district.
