The annual picnic in honor of the graduating class of Scotch Plains Fanwood High School, was hosted on Thursday, June 8th outside of SPFHS on the lower grass field from 11:30 till around 1:30. With tons of food options such as hot dogs, sandwiches and hamburgers, the seniors all had plenty of options for a BBQ style lunch. Lunch included different beverages and snacks like chips, brownies, cookies and more. The senior picnic is a day dedicated to fun music, food and a time for seniors to write their memories with one another in their 2017-18 yearbook. Senior Gabriella Marino is currently part of the senior project and goes to McGinn to helps as an assistant teacher.
“I think the picnic really helped gather all the seniors, especially the ones who go to senior project, for a day to catch up, sign yearbooks and enjoy the nice first days of the summer.” Marino said.
Around 12, the seniors got the opportunity to get ice cream from an ice cream truck which pulled up next to the field. Seniors lined up and got to pick which type of ice they wanted.
Along with the senior picnic, the seniors only have a few more last goodbyes before they graduate on June 22 on the football field. Some of these goodbyes are Senior Prom on Friday, the 9th and the Senior Social on Wednesday, the 21st.
