The end of senior year proves to be one of the most exciting times in a student’s life: prom, senior picnics and ultimately graduation. This time also signals an end to childhood and a goodbye to the familiar. Although that may seem daunting, the end of senior year marks a new beginning for the class of 2016.
Senior Nick Robins is looking forward to the next four years that he will spend at Centenary College. He made his decision several weeks before the May 1 deadline.
“It allowed me to explore new potentials of a school,” said Robins as he was reflecting on choosing Centenary College.
Despite his choices of schools, Robins decided to commit to Centenary College because of its small size, reasonable cost, distance and above all its location in the mountains.
Although he has made his decision, Robins still has some more work to do before he can start school on Aug. 24. In just a few weeks, Robins will be attending an advising day at his school to choose his classes. He will also have to purchase essentials for his dorm room that he will be sharing with his best friend, Alfonso Amore.
Even with all of the excitement of going to college, Robins is still nervous about leaving SPF and going on to Centenary College..
“[I’m] terrified.” said Robins. “ It’s a new setting.”
As Robins looks towards his future, he has set several goals for himself.
“Majoring in psychology, if that is really what I want to do, and try to make new friends if I can.” said Robins.
One thing that Robins has learned from his college application process is, “it takes time to go through the process right.”
The Fanscotian wishes Robins the best of luck as he sets to graduate from SPFHS and continue on to Centenary College.
