Big Games: April 1 vs. Union
April 18 – Villa Walsh Tournament
April 27 vs. Westfield
May 7 vs. Union Catholic
Overview: The Lady Raiders finished the 2014 campaign 11-16, ducking out in the first round of the County tournament and the sectional quarterfinals. However, the team did the Villa Walsh Tournament. The team lost eight seniors to graduation last year, including Maria Pansulla, Kelly Yeager, and 2014 Union County Third Team member Arielle Zuaro. However, they have a talented core of players returning, headlined by sophomore Kyra Lockhart. Lockhart, a member of the 2014 Union County First Team and 2015 USA Today Preseason All-USA team, is one of the best players in the state. She hit over .480 with six home runs and did not strike out once last year. On the mound, the Lady Raiders returned their leading pitcher, sophomore Jessica Waltsak. She had nine wins and pitched over 85 innings last season. Other contributors returning include sophomore Julia DiGiacomo, junior Erykah Robinson, and seniors Danielle Scheu and Erica Waltsak.
This year preview: The Lady Raiders very successful in the Union County Conference Mountain Division last year. Four of the team’s loses in division were by less than two runs. If the Raiders are successful in the Mountain Division, it could spark the team to winning streaks throughout the season.

Quote from key player: “Expect to see a team that is strong and competitive. We’ve had to rebuild much of our team, but I believe that we’re going to comeback stronger than ever. We’re working as hard as we can both on and off the field, which will definitely help us in games. Our softball program as a whole is improving significantly, so I believe that the team is going to continue getting better in the future.” – senior Danielle Scheu
