Starting today Monday, Oct. 21, Scotch Plains Fanwood’s Student Government Association (SGA) is hosting Homecoming Spirit Week. Students and staff are encouraged to dress in certain clothing each day of the week to represent their school spirit.

Throughout the week, SGA will be offering a chance at two prizes a day. As you participate in each spirit week day, your teachers will have tickets to pass out. You can only earn prizes if you are participating on the corresponding day (EX: wearing pajamas on pajama day). At the end of each day, we will pick two winners who will win gift cards.

On Monday, Oct. 21, students are encouraged to wear Raider gear. Expect to see lots of blue and white when walking through the halls.

On Tuesday, Oct. 22, students are encouraged to participate in the trend titled “Anything but a backpack day” to bring their supplies to school. Some very unique objects are sure to be seen throughout the entirety of the school.

On Wednesday, Oct. 23, students are encouraged to be as comfortable as can be in their pajamas. Expect to see a variety of colors and patterns of pajamas when passing through the halls.

On Thursday, Oct. 24, students are encouraged to wear athletic jerseys of any kind. Not only will students show off their school spirit but also spirit for their favorite sports teams.

Thursday, Oct. 24 also marks the date of the SPFHS “An Evening Under the Stars” Homecoming Dance where the PTA will announce the homecoming court, the dance will open its doors at 6:50 pm and conclude at 9:30 pm.

Lastly, on Friday, Oct. 25, students are encouraged to dress according to the Pink-Out theme for the Raider football team’s game against Summit at Perry Tyson Field.

SGA encourages everyone to send photos of their outfits to their Instagram for a chance to be featured.
