As the entirety of the SPFHS community knows, after the conclusion of the 2023-2024 school year and 25 years of service as our principal, Dr. David Heisey will be stepping into the next chapter of his life — retirement.
He’ll be remembered as a leader of the faculty, an ever-present figure within the community, a man of great knowledge and a friendly face. The Fanscotian interviewed a few students from an education class taught by Heisey and here is what they had to say:
“Dr. Heisey has taught me how to be more open minded about certain topics and how to really listen to both sides of any story or argument.”
– Ariana Hamilton, ninth grader
“Dr. Heisey has inspired me; every time he talks I make sure to listen. He’s really opened my eyes to not only the world of education, but to the actual world itself, and he’s really impacted me as a person.”
– Brandon Nguyen, ninth grader
“Dr. Heisey has taught me that even if you’re a teacher who is teaching the same subject as someone else, you can still teach in a different way or style. He’s taught me that there are many different ways that people can learn and teach someone.”
– Alison Jukes, ninth grader
The entire SPF community will miss Heisey, his friendliness, compassion and leadership dearly as we wish him well in the next chapter of his life.
