At SPFHS, many high school students come to the football games dressed according to different themes. These themes were created to bring more school spirit to the sporting events.
Freshman stand at the top of the stands, sophomores and juniors are in the middle and seniors stand on the platform below the bleachers. Nation leaders stand in the center to lead chants and get the student section excited.
This fall, the student section at SPF has been amazing and very on top of their themes. Some of the themes included white out, red, white and blue, Hawaiian and blackout with neon accessories.
“I think that the themes have been pretty good. I feel like they’ve all been kind of repetitive except for the military or army theme,” senior Riley Atkins told The Fanscotian.
Usually the student section is packed to the brim and students are barely able to move once they are standing on the bleachers. There are also other fun things in the student section including silly string, colored powder, music, the Raider flag and more.
Friday Night Lights brings rivalry and excitement to the SPF, while uniting and enhancing our school community. The students are the heart of this spirit.
Senior Katie Fitzgerald enjoys spending Friday Nights under the lights. The Fanscotian asked what her favorite theme was and what she liked most about the student section.
“ I like the amount of energy that our school brings to the football games and I also like being with all my friends,” Fitzgerald said. “I liked the red, white and blue game, which was at this one of the soccer games.”
