James “Murr” Murray, most known for his appearance in “Impractical Jokers,” celebrates the release of his new book, “Area 51 Interns: Time Chasers.” Rumble Boxing in Westfield hosted the book launch on Wednesday, October 4 from 6-8 p.m..
Murray arrived at 5:30 p.m. and got face-to-face time with the staff before the guests arrived. People started lining up over half an hour before the event. Doors opened at six, and people came in in groups of twenty.
Everyone who attended the event received a signed book for free. Along with the opportunity to meet him and take a photo. There were donations encouraged throughout the night for the Union County 200 Club. The charity donates to first responders’ families who die in the line of duty.
“I found out that Murr was launching a book and we figured we had tons of space here, so we knew we could accommodate [the public],” owner of Rumble Westfield, Lou Magrone said.
Murray’s book, “Area 51 Interns: Time Chasers” is the third book in the series. It is co-written between Carsen Smith and Murray. Characters Charlotte, Elijah, Viv, and Ray find out about their long-lost father and sneak into Area 51 to use one of the time machines to bring him back.
Murray always wanted to write books since his childhood. However, his dream got postponed due to his hit show, “Impractical Jokers.” Now, Murray has eight published books, consisting of thrillers and kid’s books.
Murray thinks that the hardest part about writing his books isn’t what would first come to someone’s mind. He says coming up with the idea and developing it is easy. The most difficult part for him was writing the book.
“In some of my adult thrillers, the characters are inspired by real people. I’ve written all the Impractical Jokers into them,” Murray said. “Sal, Joe, and Q are all in my first book, Awakened, and they all get killed in the book.”
