On September 19, 2023, the History Club held its inaugural meeting of the new school year. There was a large turnout of around 30 people, ranging from different grades, all interested in the potential of the club. Once everyone settled in, the interested students were welcomed and introduced to the board members for the club.

After the brief board member introductions, President, Spencer Martin announced that the club is
almost at the end of the process of officially becoming a chapter of the national history club, which would see them join the numerous history clubs across the country.
The club will also be having guest speakers coming to SPFHS, within the next few months, to discuss various historical topics, here they are:
Guest speaker #1: Professor Gary Rendsburg of Rutgers University – Department of Jewish Studies – will be coming in on Tuesday, October 3rd
Speaking About: The Rosetta Stone
Guest speaker #2: Charles Oppenheimer (grandson of J. Robert Oppenheimer) – Investor and entrepreneur who started the Oppenheimer project to carry on legacy of his grandfather – will be coming in on Tuesday, November 14th
To cap off their inaugural meeting, the board members gave attendees are brief presentation on the history of Pompeii, while also having attendees participate in a Kahoot on said presentation.
