Bands Cancel Shows due to the Ongoing Pandemic

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, bands have been forced to postpone and cancel individual shows or entire tours. A few examples are Parkway Drive and The Amity Affliction who canceled all of their future tour dates because they live in Australia, which was still on lockdown at the time of cancellation.

Parkway Drive issued the following statement on their website:

To our US and Canadian friends, our North American tour is officially canceled, after trying to reschedule multiple times. Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase. We’re currently working on a new tour that we’re excited to tell you about very soon. See you all soon!

The Amity Affliction posted:

It’s with great disappointment that we must inform you the TAA/SWS tour is canceled. After almost two years, it’s become increasingly difficult getting both bands’ schedules aligned. We apologize to everyone who was anticipating this tour. TAA will be announcing new dates for March/April in the next couple of weeks. Once again we are very sorry for this & can’t wait to play for you all again very soon. Love, SWS & TAA *Refunds can be found at point of purchase.

Green Day singer Billie Joe Armstrong has backed out of Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party, a concert hosted by Miley Cyrus and Pete Davidson to ring in the New Year.

Armstrong noted that he was exposed to COVID, but fortunately tested negative. Out of caution, he has decided not to travel to Miami, Florida for the celebration.

After first canceling his New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day shows in Las Vegas, David Lee Roth has now canceled his whole Vegas residency, which was supposed to be his final live performances before retirement.

The Las Vegas Review Journal reported that Roth confirmed the cancellation of the residency Jan. 3, per a representative at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay, the venue where the singer’s curtain call was set following what was supposed to be a slate of shows throughout January.

There is no word on whether the singer plans to reschedule the residency and no other explanation for the cancellation has been provided.

The 67-year-old Roth, shared an image of a painting on social media which read, “A funny thing happened on the way to Vegas,” which references the news of the Vegas residency cancellation.

In early October, the icon announced he was “throwing in the shoes” in an interview with the Las Vegas Review Journal and promised, “There is no torch being passed. There is no other side of this coin. This is classic, in-your-face Van Halen.”

“Sometimes you win…Sometimes you lose…We got rained out..Covid canceled. Future shows? When the benefit concerts for Colorado, Farm Aid, and hospital workers ‘everywhere’ come up;  Call me..” David Lee Roth said.

Certain Bands aren’t even going on tour because they don’t think that it’s right to make their fans choose to wear a mask or get the vaccine. Some bands aren’t even touring in certain states that require any masks or proof of vaccine. Some bands are only playing in states that require masks and a vaccine and others are only playing in states/places where nothing is required.
