On Dec.16, 2021, the popular survival horror game “Five Nights at Freddy’s” finally released its newest installment, titled “Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach.” Since the franchise’s first game was released in 2014, it has released seven other main games; this is the eighth installment.

Throughout the years, “Five Nights at Freddy’s” has taken over the YouTube gaming world with multiple gameplays released by some big creators known to the gaming world such as Markiplier, Jacksepticeye, Game Theory and CoryxKenshin.

With each new release comes a new mechanic, ability and map. In past games, the player had the ability to equip a mask to disguise themselves as an animatronic, climb through the vents to get from room to room, use a flashlight to scare off animatronics and more. For this game the developers have given you the ability to free-roam the plex. The large map contains game rooms, animatronics rooms, a basement and many other sections that you can access through the many vents, stairs, doors, elevators and escalators scattered throughout the world.

In the game, you play as Gregory, a boy who has been trapped inside of Freddy Fazbear’s Mega Pizzaplex, the home of the Glamrock animatronics. You meet Glamrock Freddy and with his help discover the secrets of the pizzeria and try your best to survive the night as you’re being hunted by the other animatronics and trying your best to dodge the night guard, Vanessa.

Back in February 2021, Playstation released the official gameplay trailer; leaving gamers waiting in anticipation for the game to be released.  However, since the release, there have been many critical reviews of the game’s graphics, textures and overall development. Critics complain about glitches in the jumpscares and overall game as well as the way the character progresses through the game. Despite these issues, players are enjoying the game and for some, it’s their favorite game in the franchise.

“FNAF: Security Breach” is currently available exclusively on Playstation and PC, however, Xbox and Nintendo Switch users are hoping to get their hands on it in March 2022.
