The week of Oct. 6 has been a week full of pajamas, rallies and raider pride which is known to the students of Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School as Homecoming Week.
The Student Government Association arranged a week of fun themed outfits and festivities with Monday being pajama day, Tuesday being red white and blue, Thursday being fan day and Friday being wear raider gear.
On Monday students wore a variety of PJs ranging from onesies to fuzzy pants to sweatpants and fuzzy shoes. For many students, pajama day is a day where they can get comfortable and show off a small part of their personality. It is also one of the students favorite days of homecoming week.
On Tuesday students came to school representing America in their red, white and blue. This day is also on the favorite day list because it was the day of the pep rally. Where both students and staff experienced performances by the marching band, cheerleaders, Blue Diamonds and the Sensations. Thursday was fan day in which students wore merch ranging from hats to sweatshirts to jerseys from their favorite sports team. Some students chose to wear raider gear or their personal team gear. They also began getting hyped up for homecoming; voting for the nominees that they wanted to be crowned homecoming king and queen.
On the last day of the week, students arrived in raider merch such as sweatshirts, sweatpants, t-shirts and hats. Football players and cheerleaders in their uniforms getting ready for the big homecoming game on Saturday. Freshmen celebrated the festivities with pumpkin decorating during their lunch periods.
Attend the football game Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019, against Montgomery at 1pm to support the Nation and find out who will be crowned Homecoming King and Queen.
