On Friday, May 17, the junior class took to the dance floor for the annual junior prom. This year’s theme was “City of Stars”. As usual, the prom was held at The Westwood in Garwood. Everyone showed up in their finest attire, from sparkly dresses to suits.
Spirits were certainly high on the dance floor for the entirety of the night. Students enjoyed dancing and singing to their favorite songs alongside close friends, some of the most popular ones being “Mo Bamba” by Sheck Wes, “Mr. Brightside” by The Killers and “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen.
“I felt like it was a surreal experience for our entire grade to just get together in one night and have fun with each other,” junior Ethan Morrobel said.
Of course, photos were a key aspect of the night. Prior to the actual prom, groups of students gathered at their friend’s houses to take tons of pictures with their dates and friends. For the rest of the day and throughout the weekend, Instagram and other social media platforms were flooded with posts of these photos. Students were also able to create fun momentos of the night at the photo booth at the venue.
“Everyone looked amazing and it was definitely a night to remember,” junior Jadie Pearl said.
Another important highlight of the night was the food served. Some of the favorites included a mashed potato and sweet potato bar, as well as the chocolate fountain.
As usual, junior prom was a night filled with fun, friendship and dancing.
