Mother’s Day is fast approaching. But, what to do? What to get mom? Here’s what’s going on this Mother’s Day in Scotch Plains and Fanwood.
For the 8th year in a row, the NJ Miles with Moms took place on Sunday, May 5th in Oak Ridge Park in Clark. All proceeds went to the Mother’s Center of Central New Jersey, a non-profit dedicated to helping moms in need. Winning runners earned awards for the 5k and mile run.
There are also opportunities to get unique gifts for mothers this week. Railside Cafe is hosting a Paint and Sip on Friday, May 10th. It’s an evening of painting and relaxing at Railside Cafe. Participants get to leave with their canvases, which are the perfect homemade gifts for mom.
Volunteers at one local thrift shop have created lovely handcrafted gifts for people to buy for their mothers. They can choose from different arrangements of artificial flowers placed in teacups. The Fanwood Scotch Plains Service League Gift Shop is selling them on Wednesday, May 8th.
Cub scouts are selling flowers a few days before Mother’s Day. It’s killing two birds with one stone; getting a nice gift and helping out the Cub Scouts.
Not only that, there are plenty of places in Scotch Plains and Fanwood to go for Mother’s Day brunch, including Pantagis Renaissance, Grillestone, Route 22 Tap and Grill and Darby Road Pub.
Don’t let this Mother’s Day pass by unnoticed!
