On Feb. 1, the class of 2019 student council held the annual senior social to ease seniors into their last semester of highschool. Tickets were sold for $10 at the door so seniors could spend an evening with their classmates while listening to music, eating Chick-Fil-A nuggets and playing in the raffle.
The raffle held five different prizes students could enter into which included coupons to local restaurants, like a $15 gift card to Nick’s Pizza, Rocko’s and Fanwood Grille or a $25 giftcard to Juice House. Other items included free Raider gear and half-off prom tickets, but the biggest ticket item of the night was Dr. Heisey’s spot for two weeks.
The night was spent listening and dancing to music while talking to each others’ classmates. As graduation is around the corner, students reminisced on high school memories and about how fast high school has gone by. Just after the social, some student’s went to the Raider wrestling senior game.
At 6:00 the raffle was drawn. The winners were Maryam Ramjohn and Jasmine Gist for the Raider Gear, Alexa Anselmo for the $15 to Nick’s Pizza, Lizzie Weinreb for the $25 gift card to Juice House, Kevin Calabria for half-off prom tickets and Will Gale for Dr. Heisey’s spot for two weeks.
“The senior social was a lot of fun for all,” Gale said. “ Whether my raffle ticket was called or not, leaving that cafeteria I was happy knowing that I was able to spend part of my night with the rest of the senior class.”
