The holidays are quickly approaching and that means all your favorite Christmas songs are back! Whether you prefer classic Christmas songs or newer ones, one thing they all have in common is that they put you in the Christmas spirit! But the question is, which Christmas song is the best?
We asked the students of SPF to rank certain Christmas songs from their least favorite to most favorite. Students had to choose from six different Christmas songs to rate. These songs were, “All I Want for Christmas is You” by Mariah Carey, “Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas” by Frank Sinatra, “Santa Tell Me” by Ariana Grande, “So This Is Christmas (War is Over)” by John Lennon, “Last Christmas” by Wham! and “The Christmas Song” by Nat King Cole.
Of those six songs, the least favorite, according to SPF students, is “The Christmas Song” by Nat King Cole from all the responses that have been submitted “The Christmas Song” was ranked least favorite by 42.6 percent.
For favorite song, “All I want for Christmas is You” ranked number one rounding out with 40 percent.
We also asked students what other Christmas songs they enjoy, some answers were “Winter Wonderland”, “Little Drummer Boy”, “Let it Snow!”, “Jingle Bells”, “Frosty the Snowman” and “Baby it’s Cold Outside.”
Everyone has their own personal preference to what their favorite Christmas song is that makes it perfect, to junior Antoinette Change her perfect Christmas song consists of “talking about the holiday and the family that you want to spend it with but also catchy.” Chango’s favorite Christmas song is the Christmas Shoe Song!
There are over a thousand different Christmas songs and covers and everyone has their favorite. Make sure to listen to all the Christmas music you can before it’s too late!
