On Friday, April 13 the Scotch Plains Fanwood boys tennis team played against John P. Stevens High School in Edison, New Jersey.
The Raider boys currently have a record of 1-5, with this game being the sixth of the season. The game was held at JP. Stevens due to maintenance issues at the La Grande courts in Fanwood, and resulted in a 0-5 loss for the Raiders.

“We played really well I think,” varsity player Ryan Cleary said. “There were a few things we could have done differently, but overall the team played their hearts out.”

“The season is just getting started so we have time to work on our technique and our game.” Cleary added.

The boys are looking forward to the rest of the season and improving on their skills. With the help of head coach Gary Wasserman, the boys hope to make big strides.

“I think we had a rough start with the weather, but hopefully we can continue to get matches in and continue a really competitive season,” junior and varsity player Ben Fox said.

This is the beginning of many more games and opportunities to come. To check out when and where matches will be healed take a look at the Union County Conference website. Good luck to boys tennis on their season!
