For the first time in school history, both the boys and girls varsity basketball teams won the Keith Benovengo Memorial Tournament on December 30th. The tournament has been held at Scotch Plains Fanwood High School all three years it has occurred and this was the first year either of the teams won the tournament. Senior Jack Pollion scored a career high 30 points in the opening game for the boys basketball team against Franklin, where the Raiders won 66-54. The Raiders followed up the win with beating Woodbridge in the championship game 60-58. The girls basketball team won their opening game against Pope John. The Raiders defeated Woodbridge in the championship game 59-46 with sophomore Amani Williams leading the team in points scored with 15.
