Driver's Education Theory Added to Sophomore Health Curriculum

Sophomores will now take a mandatory driver education and theory course during their health classes in the spring semester. The one-marking-period program, taught by physical education teachers, is based on the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission’s curriculum for defensive driving, alcohol safety and drug abuse awareness, and the rules and regulations of the road. Previously offered only through private driving schools in the area, the course must be successfully completed by new drivers before applying for a license to drive.
