Students win arts awards in state level of national PTA competition

Sophomore Morgan Dashiell won an award of merit in the literature category of the PTA Reflections program, which encourages students in grades K to 12 to pursue artistic expression in the areas of literature, dance, choreography, film/video production, musical composition, photography and the visual arts. The contest’s theme this year is “Diversity Means.”
Evergreen second-grader Connor Spellman and School One second-grader Camila Cabrera won awards of merit for musical competition and visual arts, respectively.  Terrill Middle School fifth-grader Jennifer Schug and eighth-grader Carly Zogg, received awards of excellence for music composition and film production and will continue on to the national competition.
“It is truly an honor to have five of our students selected from the hundreds of statewide submissions,” said high school PTA president Debra Brody.
