The Scotch Plains-Fanwood YMCA and PTA hosted the United for a Cause 5k and one mile jog on April 28. It was sponsored by the Livestrong program, a 12 week physical activity program for cancer survivors that want to restore their health by helping them recover physically, spiritually and emotionally. All 5k participants were entered in a raffle to win a gift certificate to Russell Scott Hair Design of Clark, and student participants of the one mile jog received a cowbell at the finish line. All proceeds went to the Scotch Plains-Fanwood PTA Council and Wellness Scholarship.
